The Martin Chirino Art and Thought Foundation is an organism for artistic and cultural dissemination; an integral platform for reflection and debate.
Located on the isthmus of La Isleta, in the same port district where the sculptor of the spiral and the wind lived until his youth, and inaugurated in the same month of his 90th birthday, the Martin Chirino Art and Thought Foundation is targeted It is essential to promote the collection, study, dissemination and promotion of the artistic heritage and the figure and the creative teaching of Martín Chirino, as well as the complete cataloging of his work, poured into important private collections and in the main art centers of the world, among them, the MoMa of New York and the Pompidou of Paris.
For this, an inescapable task is to cover the wider contextualization of the sculptures of the Canarian artist in the double direction with which they have been conceived: the openness to universal avant-garde currents and their fidelity to the insular roots.

The Castle of Light is the oldest defensive fortress in the Canary Islands, built towards the end of the 15th century, and, since the beginning of the 18th century, it acquired a symbolic character, until, in the middle of the last century, the building was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest . It has been remodeled as an artistic space by the architectural studio Nieto-Sobejano, and inaugurated in January 2014, by the then princes Felipe and Doña Letizia.
